It's that time of year again! NASCAR has started. And this is one of our favorite weeks...NASCAR is in town.
Since they are in town, CK and I did our annual tour of local hotels to see if any of the car haulers were parked there, but sadly, we saw none. The wackiness of this years Daytona 500 put everything behind. it's a 36 hour drive here from Daytona, and they just weren't here yet. And we didn't go look for them on Thursday night, bc they are usually at the racetrack by then, since the drivers have practice on Friday. I talked to my mom Wed night, who said, "I know you, and if you didn't have to work tomorrow, why do I think you'd take him out of school to find them?" LOL I laughed and told her the thought had crossed my mind. In my defense, I *would* have taken him to school after a quick drive around in the morning and a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel, where I would have been searching other patrons faces for anyone I might recognize (i.e, from NASCAR). LOL
I know WAY too much about this. It's scary. I know that Doris and Lisa laugh and shake their heads when I've managed to work some information about Nascar into our daily emails. LOL And I have a feeling that no one but Gabby will understand any of my NASCAR references in this post. And that's ok. :)
Anyway, I saw a tweet Thursday morning that the driver of the #2 car(in the Sprint cup series), Brad Keslowski was going to be at the Discount Tire store 3 miles from our house last night. We decided to take the boys. There was a decent line, and Ethan didn't want anything to do with it (he did like the car), but CK was excited. His 1st NASCAR driver meeting! We even saw them getting ready to film a commercial there (Discount Tire is based here, and they sponser Brad's #22 Nationwide Series car). CK even got to meet the other driver, Parker Kligerman, that also drives the Nationwide car on the weeks Brad doesn't.

This is what we found Ethan and Giang doing when we got done. Ethan was laughing so hard! I love his face.
Discount tire bigwigs waiting their turn in front of the camera.
(I felt like such a paparazzi snapping pictures out of the window as we were driving away. LOL)
But I have to say, this is one of my favorite pictures. I captured it with my phone as we were walking back to the car:
Happy Friday!
